    The afforestation is an important factor that determines the environmental health, having as a planning tool for urban development. In this context, the objective of this work was to carry out a census of floristic composition, at the Federal University of Pernambuco, Campus Recife. The arboreal census was carried out basically in all departments of the University and after that the data were analyzed through spreadsheets (Excel). In all, 65 species were collected, distributed in 3,453 individuals, grouped in 23 families, the one that was most representative was Fabaceae, soon after Arecaceae, Anacardiaceae and Bignoniaceae; The most representative species were Clitoria fairchildiana. Regarding the usefulness of the applications, Plant @ net was used more frequently. It is necessary to conclude the subjects inherent to the floristic survey, such as phytosanity, the effect of pruning, among others. In this way, the results from the data obtained so far contribute to the discussions started.
