Due to policies to combat the corona virus, such as social isolation and closure of productive activity, the job market was directly affected. The objective of this study is to analyze the indicators that demonstrate the vulnerability of the market from the comparison of conditions between males and females at the national level and in the state of Pernambuco. The analyzes are methodologically based on data from the Continuous PNAD, from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics and address the behavior and evolution of indicators such as: unemployed and underemployed due to insufficient hours worked, potential workforce, discouragement, expanded workforce , unemployment rate and combined unemployment rate and potential workforce from the first quarter of 2021 to the fourth quarter of 2021, making it possible to compare the levels of the indicators before the advent of the pandemic and after the peak period. The results indicate that despite the recovery of the labor market, there is an inequality in terms of filling this market by men in relation to women, evidencing the precariousness of work for women both in the quarters before the peak of the corona virus crisis and in the later ones.Item Cabelo crespo e mulher negra: a relação entre cabelo e a construção da identidade negra(2018) Freitas, Geisiane Cristina de Souza; Silva, Maria Auxiliadora Gonçalves da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1540473468896261; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0789389803649488It is the main objective of this research to verify the impact of structural racism in the construction of the black woman's identity with respect to curly hair. For this, we investigated how abolitionism used public spaces in order to attract the adhesion of various social groups, thus changing the forms political participation. With newspapers of the time and historiographical studies, we analyzed how this process made possible the insertion of female militants, emphasizing the relevance of this participation in the associations created in the context after March 25, 1884, when the abolition of slave labor in Ceará is consummated. In the capital of Pernambuco, we highlight the activities of the female society Ave Libertas, which was created and composed only by women. We brought here some documents left by the members of this female group and journalistic publications related to the activists, which we investigated in order to explain the ways in which the female activists act. From the analysis of these records, we found that female engagement provided a greater discussion about the political skills of women in the 19th century, thus breaking social rules constructed by the expectations of gender roles. Therefore, the investigation uses gender as a category of historical analysis, in addition to the precepts of Social History and microanalysis, observing through the concept of historical experience, the characteristics of different social groups and making interpretations about social and historical changes. In this sense, we verify how the activists for the abolitionist cause collaborated with the studied social movement, contributing in a primordial way to the political changes effected at the end of the empire.Item Dos limites da habitação à liberdade do habitar: uma análise de gênero da provisão habitacional do Programa PAC-Beberibe(2018) Mendonça, Maria Carolina Lins; Arrais, Leonardo Antonio Cisneiros; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6303281122303996; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1989682684892833The present study aims to analyze the implementation process of the Beberibe Basin Integrated Sanitation Program (PAC-Beberibe), considering the housing provision built within this program (The Residential Complex Miguel Arraes), based on the social gender relations. Therefore, we aim to (1) understand the elements that influence the relation between women and habitat, (2) analyze the context in which occurs the dwelling realization of the dwellers in the residential complex and, finally, (3) to verify if the implemented housing policy contributes to the reduction of gender inequalities. Thereunto, the study involves the adoption of the qualitative and theoretical approach of gender to the understanding of its object. In order to achieve the proposed objectives and to guarantee greater reliability of our research, through the data triangulation and results, the instruments of participant observation, documentary and bibliographic analysis were used, as well as semi-structured interviews with six beneficiaries of the Program. These data were treated through the concepts of gender (SCOTT, 1989) and dwell (HEIDEGGER, 2008) as well as based on the monitoring indicators developed by the UN Human Rights Council Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing. Our analyzes pointed out, among other results, that in the beneficiaries of the program perspective the PAC-Beberibe action strategies do nothing to reduce, in the field of territorial development, the social inequalities faced by women. The results of this research may therefore contribute to the construction of more in-depth reflections about the complexity of the relation between gender and public policies, as well as provisioning a relevant scientific contribution to the formulation of housing policies that consider the inseparability among to build, to dwell and to think, considering gender relations. Item História e caracterização da economia solidária: estudo de caso de empreendimentos das mulheres em Serra Talhada - PE e Triunfo - PE(2019) Varêda, Dallyne Emanuelly Araújo; Leão, Éder Lira de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4434499456331867Solidarity economy emerged in Brazil in the 1980s, the result of a scenario of economic crises and also of a democratic process, that is, a result of the democratic struggles of society. However, some relevant changes took place in the economy, political, social and cultural which fostered the process of insertion and maintenance of female labor on the market. This article aims to present the historical context that justifies the current scenario of gender disparity in the Civil Engineering market and to address initiatives and factors arising from government agencies and society that promote the insertion of women in this area of activity. The methodology applied for the development of this work was bibliographical research in books, digital library, scientific articles and magazines. The research shows that there is a movement of growth in the percentages of participation both in academic centers and in professional practice, that there are laws that impose certain percentages of female labor in civil construction companies; tertiary sector initiatives have been active in training the workforce and universities, companies and society have promoted initiatives to promote greater diversity in Civil Engineering. Therefore, concluding that the movement occurs for a cultural evolution by society and not for the promotion of public politics.Item Mulheres no mercado de trabalho: uma análise regional dos efeitos da pandemia da COVID-19 sobre a desigualdade de gênero no Brasil(2022-02-17) Amorim, Anna Beatriz Borges de; Souza, Poema Isis Andrade de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2017359154121135; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1955792793217694This monograph has as its object of study the labor market, which, historically, is marked by gender inequality in labor relations. Associated with this is the territorial extension and cultural diversity of Brazil, which results in different scenarios of gender inequality in the labor market of the same country. Through an exploratory analysis of secondary data from the Quarterly Continuous PNAD, we sought to analyze what the possible effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on women in the labor market, from 2020 to 2022, in order to understand the pre- and post-pandemic scenarios. For this, some variables were used: the unemployment rate, the reason why individuals did not look for work, the amount of hours actually worked, the individual's position in the occupation, among others. The results show that women were more vulnerable to the pandemic as they had a greater participation in the unemployment rate during this period. The relevance of this monograph is in showing the fragility of the Brazilian labor market by region and by gender, and how periods of crisis can demonstrate this volatility by increasing social differences.Item Um olhar sobre o feminino nas artes visuais contemporâneas(2019-07-06) Brito, Ana Nery Francelino de; Ianino, Adriana Martins; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3851462283169428; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3286893681257974The universe of communication has undergone radical changes since the invention of photography, and new media. The Instagram has been pushing new forms of photography, and it enables us to a new imaginative conversation and new senses. The purpose of this research was to analyze the changes in the female body narrative in the visual arts throughout history and how our body can be used as an artistic expression. On this study, we compared the nuances about the changes of the visual narrative in the use of the female body as a subject in the art of the twentieth century, performing a cut in digital form, painting and photography. In addition, we explore the use of the new media to express and produce images, such as using the Instagram application. Thus, two images that express the female body were analyzed; the first one was of the Mexican artist Frida Khalo, her self-portrait with short hair, produced in the year 1940. The second image is a self-portrait of the American artist Cindy Sherman, titled Untitled Film Still # 6; work of the year of 1977. Data analysis showed that the new media, such as Instagram, can be used as a trigger for the construction of meaning in the production of images of the contemporary woman, dispensing with the use of words to share these ephemeral records through the use of the application on the internet.Item O papel da mulher na arte gráfica: uma reflexão sobre a ausência da profissional feminina nos registros bibliográficos(2019-08-03) Azevedo, Bárbara de; Torres, Niedja Ferreira dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3501803097646190; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6643292400373087This research aims to reflect on the role of women within the graphic designer from studies in didactic materials on the subject. This research had the goal to identify the social direction of public policies aimed at women in the municipalities of Recife, Olinda and Jaboatão dos Guararapes, in order to promote female autonomy. The methodology used was exploratory and was based on bibliographical research and on-site observation of the routine of the places where women were cared for, where data on gender relations and female autonomy in those municipalities were collected. The results obtained show that the actions aimed at women were concentrated in services specialized in assisting women in situations of domestic and/or sexist violence and programs that enable women's economic autonomy, whether offering professional training or entrepreneurship courses. In view of the results presented, it was possible to affirm that the policies aimed at women were characterized as welfare policies and, in the context of the precarious era, they needed to advance towards structuring actions, understanding and intervening in the problem of women in the broader context of the whole of the logic of capital.Item Rivais em campo, irmãs na luta: os desafios e conquistas dos movimentos de mulheres no futebol pernambucano(2023-08-14) Sarinho, Bárbara Santos; Spenillo, Giuseppa Maria Daniel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4350911353530987; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1272819846123550The paper presents an investigation into women's movements in Pernambuco football and their fight for gender equality in football, based on the identification of three movements in Recife: Movimento Coralinas (Santa Cruz), Elas e o Sport (Sport) and Timbuzeiras (Náutico). Through participant observation, application of a form via Google Forms and the appliance of three semi-structured interviews, between the months of November 2022 and June 2023, the work suggests that such movements are established in a hybrid space between digital social networks and the football stands, configuring communities of affection (Maffesoli, 1998; Weber, 1987; Elias, 1980) and instant communities of transformative practice (Castells, 2017). The relationships between women's movements in football and other organizations demonstrate a network action in order to face challenges to achieve their goals.
