Ocorrência de Brotula Barbata (Bloch & Schneider), fisces, brotulidae, na costa do Nordeste Brasileiro

Abstract

One specimen of Brotula Barbata (Bloch & Shaneider) has been captured in Pernambuco Statet, in january 1976, for the first time on a brasilian coast by a fishing regional boat, only three examples have been reported throughout all coast of the South America: 2 in Venezuelaand 1 in Surinam, The specimen measured 550.0 mm in total lenght and 1.550,0 g in weight. All of the caracteristics, including dental formula of upper mandible coincide with discription by Osuna & CERVIGON (1988), No comonname is used in Brasil whereas " Brotula" is used in other Latin American nations.
