Fundamenta-se na vivência prática de 420 horas, em determinada subárea da medicina veterinária, cujo objetivo é tornar o discente apto a exercer sua função, mediante aquisição do título de médico veterinário. O ESO ocorreu no período de 14 de abril a 25 de junho de 2025, na Vetec Distribuidora, sob orientação da Profa. Dra. Andréa Alice da Fonseca Oliveira e supervisão do médico veterinário Alberes Rafael dos Passos Benedito. Neste sentido, objetiva-se com o presente relatório descrever e analisar as atividades desenvolvidas durante o Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) na área de propaganda veterinária, com foco na distribuição e promoção de suplementos pet do laboratório Organnact pela Vetec Distribuidora na Região Metropolitana do Recife, detalhando as experiências práticas, os desafios enfrentados e as contribuições para formação profissional e pessoal do discente; e como objetivo secundário relatar a ação de “Moduladores intestinais na imunomodulação de cães: estudo de caso em um West Highland White Terrier com dermatite atópica”. O estágio proporcionou uma vivência prática essencial na formação acadêmica e profissional da discente. Atuando como propagandista do laboratório Organnact na Vetec Distribuidora em Recife foi compreendida de forma aprofundada, a dinâmica do mercado de suplementos pet, que foram cruciais para o desenvolvimento de competências técnicas, científicas e interpessoais.Item Hipertensão arterial idiopática em cão (Canis lupus familiaris) da raça Cavalier King Charles Spaniel: relato de caso(2025-07-25) Silva Júnior, Charles Demetrius Gonçalo da; Melo, Renata Pimentel Bandeira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2756533380815255; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6714943218740024O Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) é um componente obrigatório do curso de Bacharelado em Medicina Veterinária da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE), com carga horária de 420 horas. Constitui uma atividade curricular essencial que proporciona ao estudante a vivência prática nas diversas áreas de atuação do médico veterinário. O principal objetivo é inserir o discente no mercado de trabalho e integrar os conhecimentos teóricos adquiridos durante a formação acadêmica à prática profissional. O ESO foi realizado sob orientação da Profa. Dra. Renata Pimentel Bandeira de Melo, docente do Departamento de Medicina Veterinária da UFRPE e a vivência prática foi dividida em duas etapas. A primeira foi realizada na clínica veterinária Veterinarii, localizada em Recife - PE, entre os dias 14 de abril e 08 de maio de 2025. A segunda etapa ocorreu no Hospital Veterinário da UFRPE, entre 15 de maio e 26 de junho de 2025. O primeiro capítulo deste relatório descreve as atividades desenvolvidas durante o ESO, que incluíram participação no atendimento clínico de cães e gatos, auxílio em exames laboratoriais e de imagem, além da discussão de casos clínicos com os médicos veterinários da equipe. Todas as ações foram supervisionadas e devidamente registradas em fichas clínicas e relatórios semanais, com foco no aprimoramento da conduta clínica e diagnóstica. O segundo capítulo deste relatório descreve um caso de hipertensão arterial idiopática em um canino da raça Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, acompanhado durante a vivência na Clínica Veterinarii. Dessa forma, o ESO na área de clínica médica de pequenos animais é de fundamental importância para desenvolvimento de habilidades clínicas, o aprofundamento do raciocínio diagnóstico e a aplicação dos conhecimentos teóricos. Neste sentido, o presente relatório teve como objetivo principal demonstrar as principais atividades exercidas pelo discente Wedny Santana de Paula, sob orientação e supervisão, respectivamente, da professora Dr.ª. Daniel Maria Bastos de Souza e da médica veterinária Andresa Cristina de Souza; além de relatar sobre um caso de insuficiência pancreática exócrina em um cão da raça Dachshund. O ESO ocorreu no período de 01/11/24 a 20/01/25, no hospital veterinário Pet Dream. Com duração de três meses e uma carga horária de 420 horas, o ESO tem por objetivo permitir que o aluno da graduação ponha em prática os conhecimentos em Medicina Veterinária adquiridos ao longo do curso na área de atuação de sua afinidade, sob a supervisão de um Médico Veterinário atuante. Nesse sentido, o ESO foi realizado na Clínica Veterinária Rèhabiliter – Medicina Veterinária Integrativa, no período de 29 de outubro de 2024 a 17 de janeiro de 2025, nas áreas de Fisiatria Veterinária, Acupuntura Veterinária e Medicina Integrativa. O primeiro capítulo deste trabalho se destina a descrever as atividades realizadas durante o ESO, enquanto o segundo capítulo apresenta um relato de caso da reabilitação de um paciente canino, da raça Dachshund, acometido por Doença do Disco Intervertebral (DDIV), que foi tratado com técnicas de Fisioterapia, Acupuntura e Medicina Integrativa.Item Lipoma em cães: revisão de literatura(2024-10-04) Cavalcanti, Ingrid Tavares Lima Silva Uchôa; Pereira, Márcia de Figueiredo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2176602807865729The Supervised Mandatory Internship (SMI) is a mandatory course in the Veterinary Medicine program at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), with a workload of 420 hours, being a requirement for obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine. The internship was carried out in the Animal Pathology Department at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (HOVET/UFRPE), from April 1 to June 14, 2024. The internship provided practical experience and expanded knowledge through the guidance of the teams from the Maria Ignez Cavalcanti Histopathology Laboratory, the Necropsy Room, and the Microscopy Room. Its purpose is to provide students with experience in their area of interest, combining practical experiences with theoretical knowledge acquired during graduation. This work describes the activities carried out during the ESO from April 1st to June 14th, 2024, at the Cabo Veterinary Medical Center, located in the municipality of Cabo de Santo Agostinho – PE, which took place under the guidance of Veterinary Doctor Dr. Renata Pimentel Bandeira de Melo and supervision by Veterinarian Dr. José Honorato de França Neto. Divided into two parts, the first developed at the Experimental Laboratory of Chemotherapy in Veterinary Parasitology (LEQPV), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Júlio Israel Fernandes and the second, at the Univet Barra Veterinary Clinic, under the supervision of M. V Roberto dos Santos Teixeira, under guidance from Prof. Dr. Edna Michelly de Sá Santos. Both sites are located in the state of Rio de Janeiro and were carried out from April 8, 2024 to June 21, 2024, totaling 420 hours. The activities carried out were monitoring and assistance in consultations, carrying out low-complexity procedures, collaboration in the imaging sector and infirmary. This report describes the characteristics and case studies of the locations during the internship period. It will also report a case of lesion in the nasal plane in a dog with visceral leishmaniasis, of no defined breed, 5 years old, male, castrated, 11k, which in the nasal mirror presented an erythematous, non-pruritic, depigmented, ulcerated lesion, with loss of architecture and hyperkeratosis, caused by a probable immune-mediated action of Leishmaniasis.Item Relato de caso: manifestações hematológicas de síndrome paraneoplásica em cadela com neoplasia mamária atendida em um hospital veterinário escola de Recife - PE(2024-10-02) Oliveira, Elydia Bezerra de; Pereira, Márcia de Figueiredo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2176602807865729; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0981394531603264The Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI) of the Veterinary Medicine program at UFRPE is essential for students to explore the professional environment prior to graduation. Required for obtaining a bachelor's degree, the internship fosters the development of theoretical and practical skills acquired throughout the academic training. Chapter I of this report describes the routine carried out in the Veterinary Clinical Pathology Laboratory (VCPL) at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of UFRPE, totaling 420 hours. The laboratory is equipped with adequate infrastructure for clinical laboratory analyses of fluids and secretions, aimed at conducting and/or assisting clinicians in the diagnosis and prognosis of patients at the Veterinary Hospital of UFRPE. Thus, the report includes a description of the activities performed in the laboratory, encompassing the work routine, casuistic of examinations, and a specific case study. Chapter II presents a case report entitled “Hematological Manifestations of Paraneoplastic Syndrome in a Dog with Mammary Neoplasia Treated at a Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Recife-PE.” It is noteworthy that the MSI contributed to the training and acquisition of greater experience in the field of veterinary clinical pathology, aiding in the transition to the job market.Item Infecção do trato urinário por Proteus mirabilis em cão paraplégico atendido em um hospital veterinário escola de Recife - PE(2024-07-11) Dâmaso, Bruno Felipe Remigio; Cavalcanti, Erika Fernanda Torres Samico Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5256493441853885; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2923360769800690The Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI) of the Veterinary Medicine course at UFRPE is essential for students to explore the professional environment before graduating. Required to obtain a bachelor's degree, the internship provides the development of theoretical and practical skills acquired throughout academic training. The MSI is important to train undergraduates in technical and social skills, facilitating their integration into the job market. At UFRPE, the internship was carried out at the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases of the Veterinary School Hospital, totaling 420 hours, taking place from April 1 to June 14, 2024. The laboratory is equipped with adequate infrastructure for microbiological analysis, including benches, microscopes, incubators, refrigerators and laminar flow hoods. During the internship, the focus was on the diagnosis of infections, such as bacteriuria by Proteus mirabilis in a dog, establishing a relationship among clinical, biochemical findings and antimicrobial sensitivity tests. The report therefore covers the description of the activities carried out in the laboratory, including the work routine, exam casuistry and that specific case study. This experience allows Veterinary Medicine students to envision their future professional careers in various specialized areas, contributing to a more complete education and preparation for the challenges of the profession. The Lab’s mission is to isolate and identify pathogenic microorganisms in biological samples from animals, providing support to the veterinary medical clinic. The main activities include the identification and isolation of bacteria and fungi. In addition, the laboratory performs support tasks, such as reprocessing instruments, sterilizing materials, preparing culture media and performing biochemical tests. The biological samples received include blood, urine, tissues, biological fluids and swabs from lesions, otological or ophthalmological, from the hospital or from external sources. Upon reception, each sample follows a specific flowchart, differentiating between bacteriological and mycological tests to avoid cross-contamination. For bacteriological examinations, samples are processed on specific media dishes, streaked and incubated at 37ºC. After growth, colonies are analyzed by Gram staining and biochemical tests for identification. Mycological examinations include direct examination and fungal culture on Mycosel agar. The laboratory also performs antibiograms to determine antimicrobial sensitivity, following CLSI and BrCAST guidelines. During the internship, 141 procedures were performed, with a predominance of canine and feline samples, as well as birds and wild animals. These activities are essential to provide accurate diagnoses and effective therapy, contributing to animal health and veterinary practice.Item Relatório do Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) realizado no Complexo de Especialidades Veterinárias Bicho Mimado, localizado no município de Recife – PE. The Chapter I of this report describes the routine experienced in the clinical pathology laboratory of the ‘Bicho Mimado’ veterinary hospital complex, located in the Cordeiro neighborhood, in Recife. The MSI was carried out from April 1st to June 20th, 2024, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Renata Pimentel Bandeira de Melo and supervision by Dr. Davi Wilson Mariano Gomes Filho. The activities consisted of monitoring the laboratory routine, from the arrival of biological material (blood, feces, urine, cavity fluid or others) to the execution of laboratory techniques and the interpretation of reports. Chapter II, in turn, addresses the scientific study entitled “Hematological changes in dogs diagnosed with Ehrlichia sp. and Anaplasma sp.”. It is noteworthy that completing the MSI contributed to the training and acquisition of greater experience in the area of veterinary clinical pathology, contributing to entry into the job market.
